Who can come to Focus?

Focus is the annual teaching holiday for members of the HTB family of churches, Alpha Partners and friends of church members.

Where does Focus take place?

Focus takes place at Pontin's Cambers Sands. The site address is: New Lydd Road, Camber Sands, Sussex, TN31 7RL

The site is a 2 hour drive from London and located on the South Coast, just north of Hastings.

How do I book on?

You can book online at

Select your pass, choose your accommodation and pay a deposit to reserve your place at Focus 2015.

Terms and Conditions

Where will I stay?
There are various on-site accommodation options available to guests, including self-catered chalets, camping and glamping. There are also a variety of B&B’s and hotels in the surrounding area.
Can you tell me more about the chalets?

There are various layouts of 1 and 2 bedroom chalets available, these will accommodate between 4 and 8 people. 

Chalet Features:

  • Bathroom and toilet
  • Kitchen with basic appliances which include a fridge, kettle, 4 ring hob, cooker, and microwave and basic kithen utensils/li>
  • Lounge area with table and chairs
  • Sofa with sleeper capacity for 2 
  • Colour TV
  • A limited number of ‘Mobility Access’ chalets are available to guests with mobility issues. Please contact the Focus Office directly to book
  • Guests can specify who they would like to be located near on-site, we will endeavour to accommodate these requests. To help with this please make sure you book the same type and tier Chalet as the people you would like to be near.

Please Note

  • Pillows and duvets are provided but guests need to bring their own linen and bed covers, towels are not supplied
Can I share a chalet?

Yes, you can!


  • Book a whole chalet and invite friends to share it with you
  • Book your own room in a shared chalet
  • Book a bed in twin room in a shared chalet

Things to note:

  • If you wish to share accommodation with friends then log on, submit your details and select the accommodation you wish to share. You will then be given the opportunity to email each of your friends inviting them to join you. You will be able to keep track of who has joined and who has not yet responded
  • Single guests who apply as individuals will be placed in same-sex chalet or with married couples
  • Couples who apply to share with others through the Focus Office will be placed with other couples
  • If you select your own room or a shared room, it is up to the discretion of the Focus Office as to who you share with. Special requests will be considered but not guaranteed
Can you tell me more about camping?
  • Guests must provide their own tents
  • Only one tent per pitch
  • Guests may fill their tent with as many people as they feel is comfortable
  • Please note the new site does not offer electric camping pitches
  • We are unable to accommodate caravans, camper vans, trailer tents and mobile homes on site
  • Please note there are no cooking facilities provided, only a space for washing up
  • A freezer block exchange will be available daily


  • Our aim is to allocate areas in the camp site to church plants, those with young families, students and young adults
  • Please use the space provided on the booking form to request who you would like to be located near

Can you tell me more about glamping?

When you arrive your bell tent will already be built for you and includes inflatable mattresses and an LED lamp. Bring along your cosy bedding, towels, bunting and other creature comforts and make it your home for the week. At present we cannot accommodate individual requests for glamping


  • One size tent (5m diameter)
  • Sleeps a maximum of 4 people
  • The tent will be built before you arrive on-site
  • Each tent comes with inflatable mattresses and an LED lamp
  • All glamping tents come complete with a power socket just like the ones you have at home!
  • Please note there are no cooking facilities provided, only a space for washing up
  • A freezer block exchange will be available daily
What if I choose to stay off-site?

If guests choose to stay off-site then they need to book on in the normal way and select event passes for the full week for everyone in their party.


  • Guests are responsible for finding and booking their own accommodation
  • A list of local B&B’s, hotels and guest houses is available from the Focus Office
When are my payments for Focus due?

Need to be paid in full for each guest on submission of the booking form in order to reserve any Event Passes and accommodation that you have selected.

Final payments:
Due by 31 March 2015 thereafter bookings will only be accepted with full payment

All payments need to be made online via BOLT or by cheque, made out to HTB Focus and sent to Focus Office, 5-7 Cromwell Road, London, SW7 2HR. Cash or BACS payments are not accepted.

Can I apply for a bursary?

Bursaries are available to all those that attend HTB. Upon request you will need to provide your booking reference number and a pastoral reference from someone in the church who knows you e.g. your connect group leader. Those attending Focus on a bursary will be encouraged to select the most cost effective accommodation option for the week. Bursaries do not include financial assistance for transport to and from Focus, or any sundry expenses incurred during the week. All bursary guests are asked to pay their £50 deposit per person.

Guests from church plants or associated churches should contact their church directly about obtaining financial assistance for Focus.

How do I get to Focus?


A return coach service will be provided direct from HTB to Focus on Saturday 25 July, returning on Friday 31 July.

  • Early booking is strongly recommended.


Trains run from London St Pancras International to Rye via Ashford International. The journey takes approximately 1hr 15mins and you will then need to arrange a taxi or a catch a bus to Pontins in Camber Sands which is approximately 10mins away.

What about food during the week?

Focus is a self-catering event for all guests however we do have the following facilities on-site to help with meals:

  • Central eating area with a variety of food concessions
  • Tearfund will be running our onsite Café, offering and selections of drinks and food.
  • Salts Farm Shop will be operating a farmers market centrally on site selling a large selection of locally sourced produce.
  • Community BBQ area
  • Nisa Local convenience store
  • Casey's Whistle Stop for burgers and chicken
  • Mama's pizza

There are a few smaller grocery stores in the local area and a large Jempson's supermarket about 15 minutes drive from the site.

Both the camping areas and chalets have space around them for BBQs, drinks parties and neighbourhood gatherings.

What do my Children, Youth and Students get up to at Focus?

We have daily programmes for Children, Youth and Students.

Can I bring my BBQ to Focus?

Guests are welcome to bring their own BBQ to Focus, however please ensure you keep the BBQ set up safely away from tents, gas supplies, or other flammable materials. All BBQs must be raised off the ground.

When do I collect my passes for Focus?

When you arrive on site you will be issued a wristband which will give you access to the programme for the days that you have booked to attend.

Can I help on team at Focus?

There are many opportunities to get involved at Focus and being on team is a great way to meet people and make friends.

Below are the teams looking for volunteers at Focus 2015:

Children’s team (Age 0 – Year 2)

This team is involved in putting on a programme each morning for our youngest guests. Team members will be entitled to a discount on their event passes and selected accommodation.

The Years 3-6 groups meet for morning and evening sessions. Team members will be entitled to a discount on their event passes and selected accommodation.

Younger Youth and Older Youth team:

The Younger Youth group meets for morning and evening sessions. If you relate to teens and know how to have fun then this is the team for you. The Older Youth group meets for morning sessions and in the evening the team hosts the youth in a designated area in the Big Top for the main session. Both the Younger and Older Youth teams are entitled to a discount on events passes and selected accommodation.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with cameras, song words and stage assistance. Particularly if you are already involved at your church in this area. We have both full time and part time positions available throughout the week and you will receive a discount off your event passes and selected accommodation.
